SNOW IN THE MOUNTAINS!

Today was our first delay in getting up to the store.  There's snow in the mountains, visible from my balcony!  This gives me an opportunity to share my last couple of weeks' adventures.  Here's my latest tales:

  • during one stretch, I worked thirteen straight days, getting ready for inventory,
  • drove up the mountain in the clouds and ABOVE the clouds,
  • witnessed snow on the mountain on September 13th,

  • experienced my first snow rainbow (snowbow?),
  • said goodbye to Chinese Deft,
  • hugged my co-worker from 2015, Tom, as he helped us during inventory,
  • wished safe travels to upstate New Yorker, Miranda,
  • wished Taiwanese Tracy, best of success as she left to visit San Diego and Las Vegas,
  • marveled at the Harvest Moon with friends,
  • explored Birch Ruins, atop Estes Park, one early morn,

  • received some New Glarus beer from a Wisconsin friend to barter with a local liquor owner,
  • sampled DELICIOUS cinnamon rolls from a new Estes Park bakery, Cinnamon's Bakery,
  • hiked 7.5 miles on Deer Mountain Trail to Old Man Mountain, then onward to downtown Estes, went to an art show in Bond Park, then walked to the EP visitor center to catch the shuttle, only to find out it was discontinued the week prior, so took the hiker shuttle to the park visitor center, and walked another mile home, totalling 10.5 miles,

  • enjoyed journaling at Lake Estes on a windy day,
  • woke up with back spasms, and had a hard time just rolling over to get out of bed - it fortunately was on one of my days off,
  • received photography lessons from Nancy, as we explored Bear Lake, Alberta Falls, and Glacial Gorge,

  • indulged in burgers and Moscow Mules @ historic Mary's Lake Lodge with friends,
  • shared our last employee appreciation dinner with colleagues, and won a group trivia contest,
  • had a Mexican dinner with my three manager co-workers,
  • heard/watched the elk bugle in their rut, and the coyotes yipping nearby,
  • captured sights of bighorn sheep and moose,
  • attended my first Bible Study in EP,
  • visited the National Parks quilt exhibit, and

  • savored clouds at sunrise, during our Trail Ridge Road drives, and at sunset.
May autumn in your area be as gorgeous as the aspens are coloring Colorado here!!
 See you soon!
